A CBS poll on the political fallout over Terri Schiavo found:

An overwhelming 82 percent of the public believes the Congress and President should stay out of the matter.

A recent study by the Barna Group, a Christian research and networking organization, concludes that dominionists make up as little as five percent of the U.S. population. Yet they are heavily represented in government.

A recent survey by Newsweek and belifnet portrays the great religious diversity found in the United States. Yet domininionists are advancing their agenda in the White House, U.S. Congress, schools, and military.

Dominionists want to criminalize gay sex and played on fears of gay marriage as a political organizing tool in the 2004 election. Yet a new poll by the Pew Research Center for People and the Press/Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found:

Today, 36 percent of Americans favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry, up from 32 percent in December 2004. The percentage favoring gay civil unions has risen as well. Currently, 53 percent favor allowing gays and lesbians to enter into legal arrangements providing them with many of the same rights as married couples; that compares with 48 percent last August.
